Statement of Purpose

Compassionate Christian Center is a Spirit-filled congregation committed to glorifying the Lord Jesus Christ, by proclaiming the salvation of God to the lost, and by equipping believers for the work to which God has called them. We are devoted to reaching out to our community and the world by any means necessary, and actively address the issues that plague our society.

The church is a God-directed and Christ–centered group of believers encouraging, helping, and providing according to Biblical principles.

We are committed to the priority of authentic worship of God. Worship will be taught and encouraged as a “way of life” for each individual believer and the corporate body. We are also committed to the establishment of a ministry that affirms and strengthens God’s divine design for the family. Above all, we are devoted to knowing Christ and living lives that clearly communicate the truth of God’s Word to a world in need. Therefore, the church exists for the four-fold purpose of exaltation, edification, evangelism, and extension.

Exaltation – The Church Existing For Christ

“And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

Therefore also God highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow…and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the father.”  The purpose of the church begins with the recognition that we do not belong to ourselves, having been purchased by the death of Jesus Christ; and that He alone is Lord. Enthroned with all authority, He is the Head of the Church, the One to whom our entire allegiance is due. We thus should seek in all things to follow His will as revealed in Scriptures, and bring glory to His name.

Edification- The Church Existing For Itself
"And He gave some apostles and some as prophets and some as evangelist and some pastors and teachers for the equipping of the saints for the work of service to the building of the body of Christ, until we all attain the unity of the faith to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ".

One of the primary goals of the church must be the life transformation of each of its members. This requires a strong program of Bible teaching and of training in discipleship. and personal evangelism. Believers are to be committed one to another.

The body of Christ is thus composed of interdependent members, each having received from the Holy Spirit gifts which are to exercised for the up-building of the whole body, and for the bearing of one another's spiritual and temporal burden's.

We thus desire to encourage in on
e another the development and use of each other's abilities, knowing that "the whole body", as a harmonious structure knitted together by that which everyone joint supplies, grows by the proper function of individual parts to it's full (Potential) or maturity in love.

Evangelism – The Church Existing For Proclamation

“Go ye therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and the Holy Spirit teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world”

We accept this commission as a priority of the church collectively and of each believer individually, and it is our desire to share as widely and effectively as possible the Good News of God’s forgiveness in Christ .

God equips and calls believers into a variety of vocations and ministries, and within that context each person is to be a witness by word and deed to the Lord Jesus Christ. God offers His love to all without distinction, and is concerned that believers achieve their full potential in Christ.

The proclamation of the Gospel should be accompanied by genuine love and concern for all, with the sensitivity to minister to the needs of the whole person.

But thou O Lord, Art a God full of compassion, gracious, long suffering and plenteous in mercy and truth.
